I always adore the beauty of the nature. When I walk in the woods, I just feel I'm the part of the cycle e of life, feel the connection with other beings, not only a human. The photo is beautiful roots of the tree that I found in the park in this morning.

Iris
Beautiful Iris in the park near my house. The rain stopped few hours ago. The air is so cool and greens are beautiful with water.
After the lesson in the morning, I went to listen Irish music with my student. It was my very first time to listen it. I was interested in it but had no chance to listen. I think I like it but i can't clarify me feeling yet, it was similar to my first meeting with blue grass music. It's something new. The players are so great, Mr. Moriyasu and Mrs. Moriyasu. I was so impressed their virtuosity of their instruments and their deep understanding of Irish music. They were talking using same language. I spent great time:)

It was my monthly solo piano concert at Sengawa yesterday. Mori-no-terrace is a very comfortable place surrounded by trees and it made us very relaxed. So we talked a lot even we met first time. It was fun but I didn't play as much as usual....I should be careful. Anyhow I definitely was so grateful for them to come to listen. Next solo concert will be on Fri., 18th, July.

I went to the real estate agent to look for the house to move. I have a piano, and it's kind of difficult to find the place or the landlord to allow to have it. I hope I can find good one near the future..
So I didn't do my arrangement today at all, but it's life, I have some more time till end of this month. We'll see...

Japanese plums
It's a season of Japanese plums. I bought some, organic ones which the vegetable shop near my house strongly recommended. They said that the farmer spent more than 30 years to grow the soil for it. I made plum syrup today. I can't wait to taste it:) I'll make plum pickles after I'll get another yellow, ripe ones. Today is day-off, so I will write some scores for the concerts in August.

Sunny day
I enjoyed the sunny day during this rainy season, there were rain shower in the morning though. I almost killed my adiantum last summer because of high temperature and I didn't give enough water to them, but it just grow new leaves. I'm very happy about it and amazed their vitality.
I'm still studying Mr. Mamiya, Japanese composer and famous about studying Japanese folk songs and traditional music, for the concert. I don't know why he put Db and D at the same time on the c minor triad. It sounds magically beautiful with the context of the music. He puts those notes in the very high range of the piano, so it sounds like a Glockenspiel. I heard he is very good piano player as well as a composer, so he can write the notes like this. I have to arrange this piano accompaniment to guitar and piano, for myself...I need more time to think about the balance of gt. and pn., also I have to think about my own playing. I prefer to play this song like a jazz standards. Let's see....

rain
Rainy season in Japan. I love to see the green in the rain, they looks happy, just I feel. It's nice to have this cool rainy season just before the hot and humid summer.
I was bit busy in these weeks, and I have an arrangement that should finish till end of this month.. Oh my..! It's actually a transposition from piano and soprano score by Mr. Mamiya to Piano, guitar and soprano. The song is Japanese folk song of Toyama called Sansai-Odori for bon-dance. His harmony is something so special, and I can't figure out how he could listen those sound upon a simple pentatonic melody. Anyway, I have to dig into it. Fun but difficult.

Rain! It's very cool because of it, and it's not so bad. I enjoyed the colourful hydrangea. Beautiful:)
I went to listen the recordings of Mr. Norio Sato and Ms. Masumi Yoshikawa's new duo album which I provide an arrangement of Japanese song called"Umi(sea)". I already know they are great musicians, but I was amazed their high quality of musical skill and musicality and deep understandings for the songs again. It was very good recording and I was very happy to be there as an arranger. I'm looking forward to listen full album which will go on sale in August. They also recorded Mr. Michio Mamiya's arrangement of Japanese folk song. Mr. Sato said he has "tough ears", which I totally agreed with. I can't imagine how I feel if I have such inner ears to catch that kind of sound from inside of me.

I met my mother few days ago in Tokyo. She came to visit her old friends. She gave me some of her and my father's handmade dishes for me, like a photo above. It made me very happy, not because it tastes good but also I could felt their love for me.
Finally, I had a chance to listen Mr. Mayuzumi's masterpiece, Nirvana-sumohony recorded in 1995. I could hear both western and eastern sound at the same time, but it just melted into one. I like it very much. Especially after watching Noh-theatre, I can clearly feel my roots from Japanese traditional singing in this symphony.
Sometime, we met something uncontrollable but attached to it even if you didn't want to. It didn't create anything, we know it very well, but it's hard to tear myself off, it need a lot of energy to do it. When I'm in this situation, I tried to think in English to clear my mind, even though my English is very poor. It's like a thinking with different circuit. The problems often connect to the society, and society is consist by communications, and it was based on our language. So when I couldn't find my answer or couldn't see the things clearly but couldn't find the reason, I just try to leave the situation once, and re-think with different circuit to clear things out. Often I find what I want and what should I do or should I not do. I think this is the one of the biggest treasure that I get form my experience with studying abroad. If my answer helped the people around me I am more than happy and if not so I always say to me self that I have next chance to contribute to someone. It helped me to go forward.

Noh/
It was my first meeting with Japanese traditional arts, Noh and Kyogen. The sharp contrast of sound and silence was so impressive, especially I was astonished the sound of tudumi, hour-grassed shape drum and how they use the space. There is long silence while the performer was walking or dancing, and then when sharp and shrill sound came, it completely changes the colour of the air. I really enjoyed the experience but If I know better about Noh, I may have more fun, I think.

trombone
I went to Senzoku Gakuen Music College yesterday to join the class of Mr. Matsumoto, trombone player and has a lost of classes in school. I played with him and bass player, Mr. Mizutani. The class was about trombone itself, the structure and history of the instruments, how to make the sounds include overtones, positions, and so on. It was very interesting and I learned a lot. Also It was great pleasure to play with those two great players. Their concentration and love for the sound itself and their rich and deep musicality was so inspiring. It was packed with young student, future musician, maybe, and they gave me a power as well. I was grateful for the chance to attend it.
