私にとって忘れられない武満さんのオーケストラ曲"A flock Descends into the pentagonal Garden"のスケッチを今日読んだ本の中で見つけた。Peter Serkin氏の武満氏についてのインタビュー。Boston symphonyで初めてこの曲を聴いたときは衝撃でした。緻密で美しい音楽と夢で見たこの風景のスケッチとの距離はどのくらいなんだろう。スコアが難しくてきちんと読めた試しがないのだけれど、いつかちゃんと読んでみたい。
新しい曲のアレンジをあれこれぼんやり浮かべつつ。佐藤先生に教えてもらったトロイメライについてベルグが書いている文章を読んだり。おもしろい。辛辣であった。なぜトロイメライが素晴らしいかについて詳しく書いてありました。

I was reading the book of interviews about Mr. Takemitsu by his friends and fellow musicians and found his sketch of his orchestra work,"A flock descends into a pentagonal garden". It is one of my favorite works by Mr. Takemitsu. I clearly remember the night which Boston symphony performed it when I was there during my stay. I was shocked and moved so much by his delicate sound. It's so interesting to know where his sounds came from.
